Warranty
Blacklist Bikeworks extends a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects and a three-year warranty against material defects. Manufacturing defects include failures associated to the frame manufacturing process. Material defects are related to the raw material manufacturers process. This warranty is only valid for the original owner and does not include frame failures caused by rust, misuse, abuse, theft, sending it too big, riding outside the intent of the bike, etc. Warranty repairs do not include re-paint or re-powder. Repairs to the frame will be the first priority before replacement. All defects associated with components, add-ons, etc must be taken up with manufacturer of those parts. Blacklist Bikeworks can assist if required by the component manufacturer.
General & Annual Care
To avoid premature failure or degradation of your steel frame, there are a few annual care practices. These practices are required to uphold the Blacklist Bikeworks Warranty and to keep your bike running like new:
Frame Saver internal frame treatment must be applied annually. This can be purchased from any local bike shop or through Blacklist Bikeworks. If you are unsure how to apply, please reach out for assistance.
Ensure frame vent holes are free of debris and doing their job. If water enters the frame, the vent holes allow the moisture to leave the frame. These can be clogged over time by debris. If you ride in a downpour and the frame becomes waterlogged, try your best to remove the majority of the water before hanging up your bike.
Apply grease to your seatpost annually. This means removing your seat post, lathering it in lithium grease, and then reinstalling it. You will thank me later.
Perform routine pre/post ride maintenance for your entire bike. Clean, lubricate, wash, check, etc. If you are unsure what these maintenance steps are, reach out to your local bike shop or get in touch with Blacklist Bikeworks. If you are local to the State College area, we highly recommend The Bicycle Shop, Inc’s repair and maintenance services. Click the button below to learn more.
If you have any questions about bike maintenance, just ask! I’m in the business of making people enjoy the bike they are on, and I want them to continue to enjoy that bike through their years of ownership.
